The Art of Wellness

Let’s talk about Brana Dane- The model, artist and guided meditation teacher at CARAVAN Wellness.

From a young age Brana was introduced to the spotlight when she was scouted for modeling. Brana grew her modeling career as she got older and appeared in publications such as Porter Magazine, Forbes, Vogue Italia, and Harper’s Bazaar. She has also worked for some of the most elite brands such as Maison Margiela, Herno, Samantha Sung, Michael Costello, L’Oréal, and more.

Brana’s work in the modeling world inspired her to discover a new passion and direction in life. “Modeling can become a mind game when you becoming hyper aware of how you look” she said. She turned to centering practices like meditation and guided art therapy. The world of guided art was a freeing experience from the pressures and challenges she faced as a model. She finds art to be therapeutic, you can express yourself nonverbally without worries of judgment. Brana has taken her art to shows in Brooklyn, Chelsea, Tribeca, and the Hamptons. Part of her art is reflecting on what it’s like to be a model and be treated like an object. She also holds guided art workshops that promote emotional healing and body appreciation.

At CARAVAN her practices encompass the same beliefs that hold true in her art. She emphasizes the importance of a freeing feeling in all of her work.

“My goal is to get out your emotions in a nonverbal way, expand creativity, and learn to take ideas that you’ve brainstormed and not have judgment or worries before you put them down.”

These real life practices that are usually done in large groups but are converted into short segments that you can do at home. At the end of each class she asks questions that allow your thoughts to transition out of a judgment mindset to an observing mindset.
